The third CCF sponsored scholastic chess tournament of the year will be held at De La Salle Institute and co-hosted with St. Columbanus. All K-8 students enjoy free participation.
In order to keep our tournaments free, we rely heavily on the help of volunteers to provide the best experience for all competitors. Please have your school sign up volunteers in advance by using the following link:
As we continue to register competitors, please help us in our preparations by emailing a head count of your school’s attendees to our Programs Manager, Matthew Kearney at email@example.com. We would appreciate all registrations no later than Thursday, January 11.
Registration: 8:30 – 9:30
Tournament: 10:00 – 3:15
Trophy Presentation: 3:30 (est.)
All players must check-in at the tournament site before 9:30.
Late arrivals will not be paired in the first round.
5 Sections: Novice K-2, Novice 3-4, Novice 5-6, Novice 7-8, Advanced
Non-rated, no entry fee
Swiss-style, 4 or 5 rounds, USCF standard tiebreaks
G/20 + 5 sec. increment in Advanced section when clocks are available
Notation required in the Advanced section
Individual trophies for the scholastic chess tournament go to the top 7 students in all Novice sections and to the top 6 students in the Advanced section. Team trophies to the top two school/club teams in all sections. Team score calculated by top four scores in Novice sections, top three scores in Advanced.
