Evergreen Academy


The CCF South Chicago Chess Camp was held at Evergreen Academy (CPS) for students from K-8th grades


Daily Schedule (Tue-Fri):

9:00-9:15 – Welcome: Puzzles of the Day (handouts or on demo boards)
9:15-10:45 – Session 1 – Instruction within leveled group
10:45-10:50 – Break
10:50-12:00 – Session 2 – Open play (tournament structure G/30 with notation); analyze games after
12:00-12:45 – Lunch & Recess
12:45-1:15 – Chesskid lessons / group puzzle solving challenges
1:15-1:50 – Session 3 – Build your own chess set
1:50-2:00 – Clean-up; Thought of the Day & Dismissal


Lunch was provided for each camper.

Registration was free.
The camp featured three sections: Beginner/Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced.

Instructors included: IM Florin Felecan, IM Arjun Vishnuvardhan, Bill Brock, and Adam Geisler.
